Hello
I have an NHS background and most recently provided person-centred care to patients attending A&E who were experiencing mental health and emotional difficulties.

For years, I've been a special guardian to a child with developmental trauma and neurodivergence. This deeply personal experience, identified a lack of relevant support for parents and caregivers, who give so much of themselves, to our most vulnerable and often misunderstood children.

This inspired my mission: to deeply understand Parenting Trauma and to create a safe space where parents and caregivers felt truly heard. I gained a Diploma in Therapeutic Parenting and later a Diploma in Humanistic Counselling, enabling me to offer compassionate and informed care.

As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent woman, I also understand the complexities of lost identity, deep shame, and grief of missed opportunities. These experiences have shaped my passion for helping others find healing, to embrace their unique selves through connection, acceptance, and growth.

I have previously volunteered with the Samaritans and during the Covid pandemic, supported parents and caregivers via a parenting charity. I currently volunteer with Just ‘B’, counselling those experiencing Grief and loss.

I am committed to continuous learning—personally and professionally staying informed of developments in Counselling, and my special interests of Trauma, Neurodivergence, and Grief.
My goal is to support you, by harnessing meaningful knowledge and embodying effective practice to enhance your well-being.

I look forward to working with you.
Warmly, Dawn.
